This project extends the side of a detached house in Whitley Bay, creating a generous kitchen and dining space as well as adding a utility room at the front of the property.

 

The main space features varied ceiling heights, stepping up to a large skylight that floods daylight down the brick walls.

​

The form and aesthetic of the extension is kept simple and robust, allowing the light to be the key player.
